AFC Fylde Under-18’s sealed their spot in the North West Youth Alliance Final on Sunday, as they were awarded the victory against Prescott Cables after their opponents refused to play due to Covid-19 related reasons.
Those three points secured the young Coasters’ progression into the Youth Alliance Cup Final, where they will take on Altrincham Under-18’s at Burscough FC’s Victoria Park on Sunday 30th May (14:30 KO).
Their Cup final opponents, Altrincham, topped the Youth Alliance League on 15 points, with Conrad Prendergast’s side three points behind on 12.
Recent Injuries to key players has provided opportunities for some of the younger members of the Academy to showcase themselves, including several Under-16’s gaining valuable experience.
Conrad will be hoping to have a full squad available for selection when he takes his young side to Burscough in thirteen day’s time, and hopefully round off a historic season with some well-deserved silverware.
