The AFC Fylde Community Foundation are proud to announce the launch of its very own walking football team, based in Kirkham. The group, which meets on Monday mornings each week between 11:00-12:00, at Ribby Hall Village in Wrea Green is a great way to exercise, meet friends, and take part in the beautiful game, no matter what ability they may have.
The programme, which is overseen by The AFC Fylde Community Foundations health and wellbeing officer, Ant Stayte, provides all males and females over the age of 50 with the opportunity to take part in a range of activities which benefits participants physical and mental wellbeing, as well as making new friends though the beautiful game, football.
Each session is delivered in a wholly inclusive way, and participants with the opportunity to take part in activities which are suitable and inviting throughout. As the team grows, The AFC Fylde Community Foundation would welcome the opportunity to put its team into a range of semi competitive football activities, playing other local walking football teams at local clubs such as Fleetwood Town FC, Blackpool FC and Preston North End FC, in semi competitive fun matches.
Anthony Stayte, has been really impressed with all participants who have attended the programme so far, and had the following complementary statements to say about all taking part, “all players so far who have attended have really enjoyed the fun and welcoming environment provided by The AFC Fylde Community Foundation. The programme is a great opportunity to meet new friends and take part in safe and fun football activities. I would urge anyone who is interested in taking part in this programme to call me on 07702496349, for further information, or visit www.afcfyldefoundation.co.uk“.
