AFC Fylde manager Dave Challinor believes his side will need to adapt the way they play over the coming months.
The Coasters were held to a 2-2 draw in awful weather conditions against Brackley Town and Challinor admits some of the football over the winter period ‘won’t be pretty’.
“The main positive is that we didn’t lose,” said Challinor. “The next couple of months won’t be pretty with winter arriving and pitch conditions deteriorating.
“There will be times when we have to adapt the way we play because it will be difficult to play our free-flowing passing game. We need to get the ball into wide areas and get crosses into the box and we didn’t do that as much as we had hoped.
“You have to make teams defend in conditions like that, but we didn’t put them under enough pressure.
“I think it was probably a fair result in the end. They deserved to get something from the game.
“It was a fairly even game, but we are disappointed with the goals we conceded. We scored two fantastic goals, but we had to work a lot harder for ours than they did.”
